The Senate Standing Committee on Energy, under the leadership of Nyeri County Senator Wahome Wamatinga, ย held a meeting today following a summon to the Governor of Nairobi City County to deliberate on the tragic incident that happened on 1st February 2024 in Embakasi Nairobi County which resulted in death, injuries and destruction of property.

The absence of the Governor during the meeting led to the decision of the committee to fine the Governor another ksh 500,000, requested the IG to arrest, and present him to the committee on 25th April 2024.
