The Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetangโula today hosted the Apostolic Nuncio of Kenya and South Sudan, H.E Hubertus Van Megen, who paid him a courtesy call in his office at the National Assembly.
During the meeting, they engaged in discussed matters crucial to the nation's progress with a specific focus on the urgent need to streamline government funding particularly for University Education, to enable studentโs access education without challenges.
Recognizing that corruption poses a substantial threat to the growth of any nation, Speaker Wetangโula and H.E Megen concurred that the fight must be intensified so as to build trust amongst foreign investors.
โTogether with the Judiciary and the Executive, we are committed to fight corruption. As heads of the three arms of Government, we are committed to fight corruption, hence the ongoing efforts to digitize service delivery and minimize direct interaction between service providers and consumers,โ stated Speaker.
H.E Megen emphasized the importance of putting in place measures aimed at fostering transparency and accountability within the governance structures, while advocating for awareness on the healthcare coverage as a means to enhance social welfare.
In response, Speaker Wetangโula affirmed that he will engage both the National Assemblyโs Health Committee and the Ministry of Health to intensify efforts in raising awareness about the healthcare coverage.
