Speaker Moses Wetangu’la calls for perseverance and resilience in overcoming the nations’ challenges

The Speaker of the National Assembly, the Rt. Hon. Moses Wetang’ula has told the nation to practice patience and hope in their pursuit for nation building.
Speaking on Thursday during the National Prayer Breakfast at Safari Park Hotel Nairobi, Speaker Wetang’ula underscored the importance of persisting in progressive efforts towards stabilizing the country in all sectors.
“Those who have no hope have no future because its hope that keeps us alive. As a nation we must hold very fast to hope when we are faced with any adversity and as leaders we must inspire hope to the people for a better future”, said Hon. Wetang’ula.
He encouraged the congregation to continue praying for the country’s restoration indicating that a growing nation faces turbulences meant to rebuild it for progress.
“As a country, we must live with hope knowing that nothing lasts forever but there will be something better all the time as reflected in the words of Mathew 11:26, that with God all things are possible”, he stated.
The 21st Edition of this year’s National Prayer Breakfast themed of 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 brought together the country’s top leadership flagged by high-level delegations across the region and globally.
Dr. Wetang’ula while delivering his vote of thanks, he encouraged the country to hold unto prayer saying that Kenya is a prayerful nation.
He reminded the country that Kenya is one strong country with strong values that should be natured to greatness.
“Any of you who has been fading in your hope, renew, rekindle, rejuvenate and redirect your hope to a better future. Our future depends on what we do today. May our choices reflect our hopes, not our fears,” he encouraged.
Speaker Wetang’ula commended the Parliamentary Service Commission for organizing the event that was hosted by his counterpart the Speaker of the Senate, the Rt. Hon. Amason Kingi, the Judiciary for taking part in the event, the President for accepting to grace the occasion, invited guests from across the region, diplomats and the organizing committee of the event among others for making the prayer breakfast a success.
“I thank Members of Parliament for making this Annual Prayer Breakfast part of our calendar to show our country and our people that in God we trust and in prayer, we shape our future”, noted Hon. Wetang’ula.
He affirmed that regardless of political or religious differences, the well-being and progress of the nation should be a shared endeavor.
“By coming together in prayer and reflection, we reaffirm our commitment to unity and national progress”, he assured.
Other guests present included; the delegations from the United States of America, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Zambia, Germany and the Democratic Republic of Congo among others.
